Eagle Fiber makes 20 kW a reality

Eagle Fiber Laser has released what it says is the world’s first 20-kW fiber laser with reliability for 24/7 operation. It has the capability to cut 3/4-in. steel at 120 to 160 IPM, faster than most plasma cutters.

The key to mastering ultrahigh laser power is the patented eVa cutting head. The most common cause of optical failure is contamination from external sources or motorized motion of lenses. According to the company, the cutting head eliminates these contaminants to extend head life significantly, even at 20 kW.

The machine offers a top speed of 13,780 and acceleration of 6G to cut thin sheet at unmatched speeds, reports the manufacturer. It is available in North America from Fairmont Machinery.
