Citizen launches adaptive guide bush system for CNC lathes
Story added 28 September 2009.
Citizen Machinery UK, a
precision engineering firm based in Watford, has announced that it is introducing the adaptive guide bushing (AGB) system to its range of sliding-head CNC lathes.
The organisation explained that the system will be able to accommodate any tolerance variation on the outside diameter of the cheaper material but also be able to sustain regular machining feeds and speeds and maintain accuracy and high concentricity levels.
According to the firm, the new AGB system replaces the usual rotary guide bushing technology which usually requires the use of close tolerance ground material if strict guidelines are to be observed.
The Citizen AGB is also a good investment, the company believes, due to its double taper which initiates a "more positive parallel closing action", while a protective shield disc is also used to minimise contamination brought about by fine particles of swarf.
A locking nose cap can also facilitate quick and easy removal from the front of the machine if the user utilises a pin spanner and wrench.
Citizen recently announced the launch of the "world's fastest sliding head
CNC lathe", the Citizen A32-VII.
