DMG's ECOline UK launch backed by Delcam

Story added 23 April 2009.

The launch of DMG's new ECOline of CNC machining centres is to be supported by technology experts Delcam, which will be providing a number of computer programs for the systems.

Managing director of DMG Richard Watkins said that his company has become more focused on its five-axis machines in the last few years in order to provide people with the highest-quality systems available, with ECOline playing to these strengths.

The new milling machines will deliver higher productivity at a more affordable price, he asserted.

Commenting on the partnership, Delcam marketing manager Peter Dickin said that recent releases of his team's PowerMILL software had seen a similar emphasis, adding: "The latest developments in five-axis machining always receive the most attention in any new version.

"Enhancements to more routine three-axis strategies often don't get the promotion they deserve, even though they are no less important to many users."

Delcam was founded in 1965 by Cambridge University director Donald Welbourn and is currently based in Birmingham.
