A major Northern UK manufacturing company has invested in the latest high technology workholding from Hainbuch. The Centrotex system allows them to change from collet chuck to 3 jaw chuck in under 2 minutes with very high accuracy (no radial adjustment required).
The system comes with crane mounted assembly device and can even have its own storage facility to prevent damage.
A common backplate is fitted to the machine spindle along with a bayonet mount on the drawtube. The subplate with chuck or fixture is then mounted to this, twisted through 15 degrees and locked up with quick fit screws. Thats it !. Dissassembly is the reverse of this and is just as simple.
Taking off a jaw chuck and replacing it is not easy and a job to be avoided on a regular basis. This sytem makes the whole process simple and any fixture or workholding device can be mounted to the subplate system. No more heavy lifting risking dropping the chuck in the machine or on to toes.
This system can be fitted to any CNC machine and with any workholding or fixture device, providing a very quick high accuracy, trouble free changover.
