For copy milling and deep cavity machining, Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has now developed its new 4101 Cyber Series of ball nosed end mill cutters that will be available at MACH 2012. The truly universal ball nosed series has a geometry and design that makes it ideal for applications in all industry sectors on a wide selection of material types. Something visitors to Stand 5847 will witness first hand at MACH 2012.
The 4101 Series is a solid carbide four flute cutter with a 220 degree ball nose that makes it the cutter of choice for the machining of complex 5-axis forms, deep cavities and difficult to reach surfaces. ITC's development team has extensively researched the marketplace to deliver a new series that incorporates a specialised ball geometry that allows a tool inclination of up to 15 degrees for increased feed rates and exceptional surface finishes.
Manufactured from an ultra wear resistant carbide that is AlTiN coated, the new 'lollipop cutter' can improve surface finishes and feed rates on vast selection of materials from aluminium and steel through to hard materials and aerospace grade alloys. With a 30 degree right hand helix and a reduced neck diameter, the 4101 provides exceptional access to difficult to reach surfaces whilst providing outstanding performance.
The new series is available in 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16mm diameters with a shank diameter from 6 to 16mm. Depending upon diameter, the length of cut ranges from 1.3 to 10.7mm with an identical neck diameter for each cutter. The overall length of the series is either 75 or 100mm with a reach of 30 to 68mm and a neck length from 6 to 55mm. These dimensions and geometries have undergone extensive testing at ITC and with globally renowned OEM customers to guarantee the new 4101 Series outperforms competitor cutters whilst providing a significantly improved range of applications and materials.
