ITC launches new CNC machining cutters

Story added 10 July 2009.

ITC has released a new range of Hanita AluSurf solid carbide end mills for CNC machining centres.

They have been developed to give high metal removal rates and outstanding surface finishes in aluminium machining.

Available in the 5102 and 5103 series of metric two and three-flute cutters, the AluSurf is applicable to airframe construction and general aerospace applications.

Designed for customers using CNC machining centres to produce large volumes of aluminium, the solid carbide end mills show "exceptional" tool life and productivity.

"The AluSurf range is effective in the full range of machine tool speeds from 3,000 to 50,000rpm and works at optimal conditions whether applied to high speed machining, conventional milling or MQL machining," ITC explained.

With a wiper facet, special end gash and flute geometry, the CNC tolling offerings give outstanding surface finishes, the firm added.
