MAG releases new vertical machining centre

Story added 04 August 2009.

MAG is to introduce its first model in the NBV series - a vertical machining centre - at EMO Milan in October.

The NBV 400 CNC machining centre has a modular design, comprising fixed and rotary/tilting tables for three, four and five-axis machining.

"This allows the NBV to be configured to provide machining solutions to multiple production requirements in the mould and die, aerospace, medical and general machining sectors," MAG explained.

A range of four performance spindle packages are available, offering speeds of up to 42,000 rpm, and the standard disc-type tool magazine holds 40 tools, which are securely and accurately clamped by pre-loaded disc springs.

MAG has also focused on environmental considerations in the new machining centre.

The NBV 400 runs without hydraulic oil and has a power saving mode to balance performance and energy consumption.
