Mazak CNC turning centre and vertical machining centre

Story added 07 January 2010.

Yamazaki Mazak, the Worcester-based machine tool builder will present the latest in machine tool technology at Southern Manufacturing, the venue for many of the advanced manufacturing companies in the south of England.

The company will exhibit the Quick Turn SMART 200, representing Yamazaki Mazak’s brand new two- and three-axis CNC turning centre series. Also on display will be the Vertical Machining Centre Nexus 510C-II vertical machining centre.

The QT SMART series includes four models offering between 350 mm and 420 mm maximum machining diameter. Complimenting QT SMART is the MAZATROL SMART control system, designed with two-axis turning and three-axis milling in mind. By eliminating functions that would be expected on multi-tasking machines (Y-axis, five-axis CNC machining, etc.), Mazak has created a control that is easy to use and provides a more cost-effective solution to customers who do not require these additional functions.

Southern Manufacturing takes place at the FIVE exhibition centre in Farnborough, Hants on the 10-11 February.
