Yamazaki Mazak has launched a new multi-tasking machine tool that has been specifically designed and built for the safe, efficient and accurate machining of large work-pieces.
The new INTEGREX e-670H, part of the INTEGREX e-H II series of machines, is a true combination of both machining centre and turning centre, with the main turning spindle and milling spindle each delivering 50hp machining capability. The machine has a part machining capacity of 1070mm diameter by up to 6,000mm in length between centres.
In addition to the large working envelope, the e-670H can be equipped with NC programmable steady rest and a tailstock that provide enhanced large parts capacity. Applications requiring long bores to be machined can be easily accommodated with 3 bars up to 1.4m in length capable of being stored in the integrated automatic tool changer.
The new Integrex is also equipped with a U-axis and the ability to hold long milling tools for special purpose applications. A spindle through bore of 260mm in conjunction with the capability to perform gear cutting, deep hole drilling, milling and turning makes the machine the ideal choice for applications such as those found in the aerospace, the oil and gas and power generation industries. Crucially, the enhanced axis performance achieved through the integration of latest technology Linear Roller Guideways means that the e-670H is also extremely effective for smaller intricate applications.
The e-670H also has a range of design and ergonomic factors which set it apart. The machine guarding incorporates the latest Mazak design providing enhanced visibility and accessibility to the working area, delivering an unsurpassed machine and user interface, together with efficient part loading and unloading capability.
Importantly, it is also equipped with a number of environmental features which reduce energy consumption and therefore the through-life cost of operation, including LED lighting, personnel sensor, intelligent chip conveyor, NC display off and power consumption meter. The INTEGREX e-670H is equipped with the latest Mazatrol Matrix CNC enabling the efficient programming of even the most complex components.
Tony Saunders, UK sales director for Yamazaki Mazak, commented: “The safe and accurate machining of large workpieces is a critical requirement for a multitude of sectors, including aerospace, construction, marine and energy. The INTEGREX e-670H combines this capability with significant productivity gains delivered by its ability to reduce multiple machining operations, set-ups and programmes down to delivery by a single machine and operator. We believe the Integrex e-670H will prove a very popular addition to the Mazak range in the UK market.”
