Tungaloy has now launched its new CBN coated grade of BXM10 inserts for the CNC machining of hardened steels. With a newly developed multi-layer coating and innovative substrate, the BXM10 provides exceptional wear resistance that guarantees tool life, five times greater than competitor product offerings when high speed CNC turning of hardened steels between 2700 to 2900Hv.
The new BXM10 grade has a cutting speed range from 100 to 300m/min for continuous and lightly interrupted turning operations up to a depth of 0.5mm The exciting new grade is available with five positive geometry insert types, each with a selection of corner radii and wipers for numerous applications.
The BXM10 is also available with four negative type inserts with 5, 7 or 11 degree clearance angles plus a variety of radius options for each insert type. The various inserts promote swarf evacuation and heat dissipation to enhance tool life.
Each insert in this exciting new series is available with either two or three cutting edges to provide the end user with an economical solution for hardened steel CNC machining. The new BXM10 improves tool life with its exciting new substrate that gives the end user 100% confidence in the performance of the tooling when conducting continuous machining.
The innovative substrate delivers remarkable adhesion strength and wear resistance to give the end user an excellent surface finish that is beyond competitor products whilst delivering outstanding tool life performance.
