New tooling innovation for CNC milling

Story added 11 January 2010.

Rigidity, cutter surface finish, component finish and accuracy of CNC milling operations are all improved with the new EcoBall Endmill from TaeguTec. The new range of ball nosed solid carbide end mills is produced in an efficient process in which the cutting tool is pressed to size. This reduces stock removal and enables the cost savings to be passed on to the end user.

The stub-cut length EcoBall series, produced from specialist fine grain carbide, has remarkable rigidity and offers exceptional metal removal rates. It is the optimal solution for profile and cavity CNC machining in the aerospace, automotive and medical industries.

The new TiAlN carbide range of two flute cutters is available from 4 to 12mm diameters with a respective cutting length from 5 to12mm and an overall length from 54 to 73mm. The EcoBall can be applied to roughing and finishing applications on alloy steel and tool steels from 30 to 45HRc and on hardened steels from 45 to 55HRc.
