Open Mind announces EMO 2009 success

Story added 15 October 2009.

Open Mind Technologies AG has celebrated success at a recent CNC machining show in Milan, Italy.

The organisation used the 2009 EMO as a platform to launch its new version of hyperMILL to aid companies in developing and optimising process chains for precision engineering, with the new package being "extremely well received" and getting an "exceptionally high enquiry level".

Open Mind harnessed modern CAM systems and integrated solutions for the "flexible, cost-effective and high-quality complete machining of workpieces", with hyperMILL being absolutely central to this.

It targeted audiences wanting efficiency and reliable results from five-axis milling machines.

Open Mind explained: "On suitable five-axis machines, the leading five-axis technology in hyperMILL can often yield time savings of more than 25 per cent while reducing tool wear and increasing contour accuracy to ensure cost effective production."

Based in Wessling, Germany and founded in 1994, Open Mind employs 140 people and has sales of €20.1 million (£18.5 million).
