PowerMILL 'keeps quality high'

Another success story with Delcam's MowerMILL CAM system has been revealed, as Hitech Shapes and Designs revealed that it has fully evolved from its roots as a hand-crafted wood and metals company to deliver CNC machining prowess.

Speaking to the company which provided the firm with the ability to turnover CAD files to prototypes in the space of three-to-four weeks, Hitech Shapes revealed that it has excellent support from the organisation.

Hitech operator Les Wright said of the technology: "I had been running CNC machine tools for twenty-plus years as a patternmaker before I moved into programming. The Delcam software was fairly easy to learn, even after being used to another brand.

"With only five half-day classes, I was up and going with it."

He explained that Delcam's precision engineering software will allow for easy machining in layers to suit lengths of different cutting tools on a milling machine, while allowing for improved efficiency by not cutting air and thus saving time overall.

Earlier this month, Delcam announced that it would be partnering with 35 separate companies this week at EMO in Italy to show its CNC machining prowess.
