Pre-owned Citizen CNC machines 'available for trial' in Watford

Story added 10 August 2009.

Some 11 Citizen CNC sliding head turn-mill centres are ready for viewing and trial by potential users at the firm's Watford showroom.

The pre-owned machines are expected to produce a lot of interest from prospective buyers, Citizen managing director Geoff Bryant claims.

He said: "Customers have shown they prefer to purchase Citizens from the main dealer because of the product knowledge and therefore lower levels of risk involved."

Customers can also take advantage of the training and application support available from Citizen staff, Mr Bryant added.

He said: "This is, of course, in addition to the reassurance of a warranty that gives greater confidence should they develop a problem once the machine is installed."

The machines are also available at a significant cost-reduction compared to new machines, with Citizen also offering a warranty to improve confidence among purchasers.

Citizen recently agreed a merger with Japanese fixed-head machining firm Miyano Machinery. The agreement sees both firms collaborating on complementary areas of development and production resources.
