Precision engineering firm announces improved sales

Story added 05 May 2009.

The fight against the recession in the precision engineering sector still continues, with another company announcing that is weathering the current economic storm.

Gear Technology, which is a leading worldwide CNC machining firm for aerospace, commercial and military industries in the US, stated that it registered a sales increase of ten per cent for the fiscal year-end of 2008.

Tom Marino, the president of the organisation, said that the team streamlined its manufacturing process in order to improve the response times to major projects and cut down on time wasting, adding that customer confidence has risen as a result.

He continued: "In order to efficiently produce this product volume we added a new Koepfer 173 Gear Hobber for more capacity.

"These state-of-the-art machines load parts, machine gears and unload them automatically."

Makino has recently targeted the aerospace industry with its new MAG1, a CNC five-axis machining centre that is able to process smaller-sized components which is now available through UK distributor NCMT.
