Record year of sales for precision engineering firm

Story added 23 February 2009.

A manufacturer of CNC machine tools in West Yorkshire has announced that despite tumultuous financial conditions in the sector, it has recorded its best ever year for sales.

Halifax-based firm Broadbent Stanley, a specialist in producing CNC lathes and other milling machines, has even expanded its operations to include another design engineer on its team in order to deal with the increased demand, reports the Halifax Courier.

Managing director Graham Thomas revealed the hiring of Danny Hill to the newspaper, adding that its range of Parkson twin-column machining centres were doing particularly well in recent months.

He continued: "Our large manual and CNC lathe sales are holding up ... and we have just taken an order from one of our Middle Eastern customers for the supply of one of our S series CNC slant bed lathes."

The firm continues to promote its flat bed CNC lathes and vertical turning lathes to the engineering and oil industries across the world.
