Renishaw introduces new dental milling machine

Story added 27 November 2009.

Renishaw, a precision engineering firm, has announced the release of a new milling machine which is created to reduce the cost of zirconia dental frameworks.

The organisation explained that the incise dental CNC milling machine was a significant talking point of the Dental Showcase exhibition held this season in Birmingham, with dentistry experts shown a system that allows them to produce high quality zirconia frameworks at "well below current market norms".

Gareth Tomkinson, the UK dental sales development manager with Renishaw, explained that the focus of the organisation is to provide patients with more affordable metal-free restorations as an alternative to non-precious items.

"However, there are no compromises we manufacture high quality dental CAD/CAM systems, which together with premium grade zirconia, allow labs to promote the benefits of metal-free dentistry to many more clinicians and their patients."

Renishaw recently announced that its TRS2 tool recognition systems have saved Lamborghini €150,000 (£132,000) in conjunction with the firm's Mazak CNC machining systems.
