Renishaw launches new CNC machining software

Story added 13 July 2009.

The latest CNC machining software from Renishaw has been unveiled by the Gloucestershire-based company.

OMV Pro 2.02 supports Microsoft Windows Vista and adds more advanced coordinate measuring machines style capability, along with an extended range of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing functionality.

For users of complex multi-axis machine tools it also has the ability to work with multiple alignments in a single program.

The new CNC machining software allows users to quickly verify the accuracy of free-form and prismatic parts without moving them from the machine bed.

Furthermore, a graphical interface enables users to see exactly what was cut, meaning corrections can be made before the part is moved.

"The new version of Renishaw OMV Pro strengthens Renishaw's position as the world's leading supplier of probing software for CNC machine tools," the firm commented.
