Robotic machining centre 'beyond anything else available'

Story added 26 January 2009.

The addition of a robot to a pad printing process takes the machining centre technology beyond anything else on the market, it is claimed.

Developed by Pad Print Machinery, the XE-Robot is adaptable to manufacturing and assembly applications, as well as product marking and decorating.

It is ideal for precision engineering firms that require maximum flexibility from their investment in machining centres, says founder and chief executive officer Julian Joffe.

A four axis robot is programmed to select from six pads of varying shapes and sizes, while a two axis fixture assembly line allows printing on multiple locations of five sides of a part.

The robot can also perform drilling, screwing or assembly functions when one of the pads is replaced by a machine tool.

"In today's economy, manufacturers want to be assured that their tools can perform a variety of tasks and be flexible enough to use for many projects - and years - to come," adds Mr Joffe.

With a combined total of more than 100 years' experience in precision engineering, Pad Printing can design and build machining centres to fit unique applications.
