More than ever before, China is increasingly the main focus of German machine builders. Within the next few years, Schunk is aiming to increase its growth potential in the People’s Republic of China and in preparation for this desired growth; Schunk has realigned its distribution activities.
True to the Schunk philosophy of ‘Better for us’ means ‘Better for you’, the company has now combined both of its key business areas. Previously, the locations at Hangzhou and Shanghai were divided into separate business units. Toolholding, Workholding and Automation have now been merged into the newly founded Schunk Intec Precision Machinery Trading (Shanghai) Co, Ltd.
This re-alignment will benefit customers in the region as the full range of Schunk products will be available from one supplier source and from one address. The new company is based in Shanghai, where the representative office has been located since 2004. Schunk has chosen Shanghai because many of the Schunk relevant industries are located in the area. Shanghai is considered the major commercial centre of the country with links to the rest of China.
