TaeguTec aims to make high-speed CNC machining even faster
Story added 04 November 2009.
The Cermet CT7000 grade for steel machining applications has been launched by TaeguTec to improve high cutting speeds, proving "extremely successful" in the market.
Replacing the company's former market-leading CT5000 grade of tools, the CT7000 has a much-improved performance level showing huge improvements including better wear resistance and reinforced toughness levels, in turn enhancing interrupted cutting.
An "excellent thermal resistance level" also enables it to work at speeds which outdo the abilities of
precision engineering competitors' tools, TaeguTec added.
The pieces were developed in TaeguTec's "state-of-the-art" warehouse, with experts creating a reinforced structure to provide both toughness and "excellent chipping resistance" to oppose the chance of a sudden fracture, while the high chemical stability strengthens the insert and improves the surface finish of the workpiece post-
CNC machining.
TaeguTec originated in South Korea and expanded hugely in the early 1960s to fulfil market opportunities in the UK, US and Japan, while reaching even more countries from 2000 onwards including Spain, Italy, Russia and Brazil.
