TaeguTec launches new tooling

Story added 24 November 2009.

As part of its promise to boost productivity in the companies it is affiliated with, TaeguTec has introduced the TT6080 grade, which is an improved version of the existing TT6030 and TT6060 offerings.

The new is able to encompass the application range of the pre-existing grades while also delivering "enhanced performance benefits".

It means the established TT6290 can work with grey cast iron CNC machining at "extremely high speeds", while the new TT6080 grade targets the CNC machining of both plain cast iron and nodular cast iron to reduce costs, increase tool life and boost productivity, satisfying customer needs.

The TT6080 uses an upgraded AlTiN coating on a TiN layer to increase coherence, while lengthening tool life by ten to 30 per cent on both grey cast iron and ductile cast iron.

Furthermore, the coating process incorporates TaeguTec's own TMP coating to improve swarf removal and friction levels to prevent built up edges.

Last month, TaeguTec took advantage of CNC tooling demand when appearing at the Seoul International Tooling & Related Equipment Exhibition 2009 in its home country of South Korea.
