UK CNC machining specialist records 5% growth

Story added 07 May 2009.

A Lancashire-based CNC machining company has announced that it has recorded five per cent growth for 2008/2009, with an even better future predicted, it has been reported.

In a piece for Engineering Capacity, it was revealed that Bright Spark Precision Engineering, which started operations in 1989, has made significant investments in horizontal machining centres and CNC lathes from Mazak.

This has allowed it to grow in the downturn and the company has predicted that its order book will increase by 150 per cent.

Merc Group acquired the group in March 2008, with managing director of the organisation Les Nuttall stating: "Since the acquisition, Bright Spark has created five new positions, raising the number of employees to 19.

"The Merc group turnover has raised 25 per cent to £4.6 million in 2008/2009 with a total of 70 employees."

Bright Spark will be another company exhibiting its facilities at Subcon 2009 at the NEC in Birmingham between June 9th and 11th, stationing itself at stand J101.
