Cutting Tool Manufacturer Opens its Doors in Birmingham

Story added 05 September 2010.

Globally renowned cutting tool manufacturer, the Tungaloy Corporation is delighted to announce that it has now opened a new facility in Birmingham to service the UK marketplace. The Japanese company has been successfully producing high specification cutting tools, indexable inserts, and additional industrial products for over 70 years.

Since becoming a member of the IMC Group of companies in 2008, the ambitious manufacturer has successfully progressed on a strategy to service all global markets, to which the UK is the latest subsidiary to open its doors for business. To accommodate its exponential growth, the company has several manufacturing plants in Japan and is making huge additional investments in new production equipment. All manufacturing sites utilise state-of the-art manufacturing processes and equipment that supply over 20 global subsidiaries with the highest quality of cutting tools.

Tungaloy identifies and will continue to earnestly undertake various initiatives to reduce burden on the environment. This attitude is reflected in the development of environmentally friendly products as well as in our commitment to green procurement and waste management.

The UK facility in Bartley Green will be headed up by new Managing Director, Mr Michael Roach. With over 25 years’ experience of working within the IMC Group in the UK, Michael is relishing this new challenge and comments: “With many years of working within the group, this new opportunity is very exciting. I recently visited the manufacturing plants in Japan to witness the impressive quality control at first hand. This immediately filled me with confidence that the Tungaloy brand is destined to achieve significant sales levels in the UK.”
