Latest MachineBuilder to be unveiled

Story added 27 October 2008.

MachineWorks is to unveil the new v6.5 MachineBuilder later this month.

The Sheffield-based firm will show it at the Japan International Machine Tool Fair, which takes place from October 30th to November 4th.

Its MachineBuilder simplifies the process of creating a full machine model, allowing users to produce their own application which can sit on the controller or a standalone PC.

The toolkit simulates any type of CNC machining with any type of tool and allows for an unlimited number of axes, meaning turning, milling, mill-turn, grinding, water jet, laser, wire EDM and robotics can all be simulated.

"Being a toolkit, MachineWorks takes up any shape," says sales and marketing director Mike Nicholson.

MachineWorks offered the first true solid model simulation in the 1990s, which allowed CAM software producers to provide integrated simulations.

The firm now has customers across North America, Europe and the Far East and provides innovative solutions and technical support.
