New technology could 'meet challenges' in engineering

Story added 17 November 2008.

A new piece of harvesting technology could be taken up by the building engineering sector, it has been claimed.

Enocean and Sensordynamics have revealed the availability of the EO3000I ASIC.

The wireless sensor includes features such as bidirectional communication, actuation and high transmission security, which may interest those within the precision engineering industry.

Ultra-low power energy management is also available through use of the product, its makers claimed.

The technology features an integrated sensor interface and its transceiver covers the 868 and 315MHz frequency bands, while also using a programmable eight-bit microcontroller.

Enocean stated the development of this equipment allows those within the industry, such as precision engineering workers, to "meet the challenging requirements" of the sector.

In related news, Bosch has agreed a deal to acquire engineering firm Paal, according to reports.

The tooling firm's packaging technology division is set to take on the company which posted 2007 sales of more than 26 million euros (£22 million).ADNFCR-1982-ID-18880038-ADNFCR
