New machine tool technology - New machinery and tooling launched

This page of the MTD website is dedicated to the launch of new machine tools and tooling accessory items. Each month we will be displaying  the best in technology available from UK suppliers and manufacturers.

This month we are showing the latest SW-20 sliding-headstock mill-turning centre. With its two tool platens in front of and behind the spindle centerline, Star's new SW-20 sliding-headstock mill-turning centre with 11 CNC axes made its European debut at EMO 2011.

The 20 mm capacity machine is ideal for balanced turning, milling and drilling operations from either side of the bar, making it especially useful when processing slender components that could otherwise be easily deflected.
