Matsuura Join The MTC

It is with pleasure that Matsuura announce our membership of the prestigious Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) Organisation – the National Centre for Net Shape and Additive Manufacturing Research with a global reputation for innovation and excellence.

Matsuura are recognised market leaders in the field of automated multi pallet, multi axes and multi-tasking CNC machine tools and their associated manufacturing process solutions.

Our prestigious heritage of designing subtractive CNC machining technology is renowned all over the world, in every industry creating close tolerance prismatic components.

As pioneering technology innovators creating the production platforms for the manufacturers of tomorrow, the spirit of our company’s founder lives on. For over a decade Matsuura has been developing the LUMEX Avance-25 – the world’s first 3D Printing, Metal Laser Sintering Milling Hybrid CNC machine tool – a truly innovative platform in Net Shape Form and Additive Manufacturing – with the integration of a proven Matsuura high speed milling spindle for subtractive machining processes.

The ability to "grow" a metal component in layers with complex internal features and mill those internal features as the layers are added to give a perfect surface finish are what makes the LUMEX Avance -25 such a distinctive and remarkable production machine tool – offering designers and manufacturers a route to designing what they can imagine, and not be limited by the restrictions of their current production methods, strategies and machines.

At the MTC the LUMEX Avance-25 will be involved in Core Research Projects for Tier 1 Companies and exposed to 25,000 visitors per annum. The machine itself will be independently verified and all processes and strategies certified. In addition, the LUMEX Avance-25 will feature heavily in Hybrid Additive Manufacturing workshops endorsed by the MTC Organisation.

The LUMEX Avance-25 is already revolutionising how individual components are conceived and end products are designed, with a core global customer base that are all pushing the envelope in their respective markets.

The machine will be delivered to the MTC in summer 2016, installed, commissioned, serviced and maintained by dedicated Matsuura Engineers.
