ITC acquires new Anca CNC grinding centre

Added to MTDCNC by ITC LTD on 30 September 2013

To support its exceptional levels of growth and the development of new cutting tools and geometries, Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has now invested in an Anca GX7 CNC tool grinding centre. The arrival of the new machine in September complements the four Walter tool grinding centres the Tamworth manufacturer has acquired over the last 12 months.

As part of ITC's continual investment program, the latest acquisition has been purchased specifically for the re-grinding of solid carbide end mills. As ITC's Managing Director, Mr Peter Graves comments: 'As well as manufacturing cutting tools and working with Widia as their UK agent, a unique selling point for our business is the ability to offer a re-grind service to our customers. We pride ourselves on our ability to re-grind tools to an 'as new' condition. The arrival of the state-of-the-art Anca will enable us further enhance our surface finishes and accuracy whilst giving us the facility to develop new and extremely complex geometries that are increasingly commonplace in the industry.'

As an innovation driven manufacturer of cutting tools, ITC works closely with OEMs in the aerospace, F1and automotive sectors to develop new machining and cutting tool techniques. A significant element of this, is the development of new cutting tool geometries to enhance machining performance and productivity. The new Anca GX7 will underline the company's commitment to these customers with regard to creating new geometries and new product lines. Furthermore, the new grinding centre with a cutting tool capacity up to 220mm diameter will improve productivity and extend capacity for ITC with its fast cycle times, improved flexibility and operator friendly ergonomics.

With a UK manufacturing base that incorporates a technical engineering team to support the end user, customers of ITC can rest assured that its ongoing investment in the latest CNC grinding centres combined with the technical expertise will ensure end users that they are purchasing the most technically advanced cutting tool solutions available.
