New for CNC machining high precision radii

New for CNC machining high precision radii

Added to MTDCNC by MTDCNC on 25 October 2012

For the machining of miniature high precision radii, Industrial Tooling Corp (ITC) has now developed its new 2171 Cyber Series of miniature corner rounding cutters.

The new two flute solid carbide milling cutters are manufactured from an ultra wear resistant micro grain carbide to deliver impeccable performance for the machining of precision radii on small components that are commonplace in the rapidly growing micro-manufacturing sector. With a full 90 degree radius plus runout, the exciting 2171 Series is available as an uncoated cutter or with a Cupro coating to maximise performance and tool life on a wide variety of materials.

Specifically for micro machining applications the new 2171 Series has a 3mm shank diameter and an overall length of 38mm to maximise rigidity and surface finishes. With a choice of corner radius including that includes 0.2, 0.25, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.75. 0.8, 0.9 and 1mm, the 2171 Series offers end users a solution for all their small radius machining requirements. The new 2171 Series complements the proven 4011 Series for the machining of larger radii. The 4011 Series is available in diameters from 8 to 20mm diameters with a choice of radii including 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5 and 6mm. With a UK manufacturing facility, ITC can manufacture special radius cutters that meet the specific demands of the end users. For further details, contact your local ITC representative.
