Fast end mills for difficult to cut materials
FRANKEN, the manufacturer of milling tools in the EMUGE-FRANKEN group, launches a new milling tool program dedicated to the power generation sector. The tool program 'FRANKEN Turbine' focuses on difficult to machine materials, such as stainless type materials or titanium alloys.
The new end mill program 'FRANKEN Turbine' contains solid carbide milling tools for roughing and finishing of turbine blades, impellers and other complex 5-axis components. These parts are often made from materials, which are difficult to cut and challenge the milling tools. The new end mill program 'FRANKEN Turbine' has been developed especially for these applications and is suitable for machining of stainless steel materials, titanium alloys, nickel, cobalt or iron-base alloys.
The multi flute conical torus and conical ball nose end mills with special blade geometries are best suited for semi finishing of blades. The barrel shaped end mill is the result of some outstanding technological developments by FRANKEN, where due to the large radius of the barrel shape, a very good surface finish can be achieved. Another advantage is a double axial depth of cut, which reduces the machining time by half. The added value of this special geometry will be best utilized with the use of CAM-software-modules.
