Greenleaf Runs Rings Around Competition With New API Grooving Tools

Accomplishing complete ring grooving in a single operation is now easily achievable with thanks to the new Ring Max II Series of cutting tools from the Greenleaf Corporation. The new Ring Max II has been engineered to reduce machining times of API ring grooves.

The impressive new Ring Max II is an extremely precise two-piece modular tooling system that offers a complete range of back-end tool shanks and cutting heads to deliver a comprehensive solution. Developed for the oil & gas industry, the new Ring MaxII combines with the Greenleaf series of WG-300 whisker reinforced ceramic inserts to reduce machining times of API ring grooves from 30+ minutes to less than a minute.

This exceptional reduction in machining time is achieved by a cutting head and insert configuration that will machine the groove and chamfer in a single operation. Utilising a precision machined and balanced tool body that has through coolant facility, the new Ring Max II delivers astounding tool life and productivity levels when machining Inconel 625 clad overlays.

Capable of machining industry standard API grooves such as BX, R and RX styles, the Ring Max II  is also available for machining alloy steel and stainless steel materials. The new innovation can machine a multitude of materials with the integration of the WG-300 whisker ceramics, G-915  and GA5036 carbide grades. To minimise inventory and tooling costs, the back-ends on the Ring Max II are also compatible with Greenleaf face mill cutting tools. Providing the ultimate in economical flexible machining, the new Ring Max II is the industry’s most repeatable, dependable and secure solution available.
