New Cyber Series of ball nosed end mills from ITC

New Cyber Series of ball nosed end mills from ITC

Added to MTDCNC by ITC LTD on 29 June 2014

For the profile machining of steel and other ferrous materials, Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has now launched its new 4032 standard length and 4042 long reach Cyber Series of ball nosed end mills. The innovative new end milling lines have been developed by the Tamworth based cutting tool specialist to improve performance, tool life and productivity when machining a wide variety of ferrous materials.

Manufactured from a high quality ultra wear resistant micro-grain carbide, the new ranges deliver exceptional tool life with edge chipping and wear minimised. This significantly prolongs the high performance characteristics of the tools. The four fluted straight shank centre cutting tools also incorporate a Cupro coating that dissipates any heat generated and further extends tool life with its astounding wear resistance attributes. The combination of the micro-grain carbide substrate and the Cupro coating deliver extended tool life, consistency, surface finishes and productivity when measured against competitor milling lines.

To increase the flexibility and application range for its customers, ITC has given the 4032 and 4042 Series a long shank length whilst a short length of cut on the 4032 line enhances rigidity and minimises vibration when cutting at high speeds and feeds. The 4032 Cyber Series of standard length cutters is available in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12mm diameters with a straight shank to enhance the rigidity of the line. The long shank length offers an overall cutter length from 60 to 100mm depending upon diameter selected and the length of cut varies from 7 to 25mm.

For longer reach applications such as the machining of cavities and intricate 5-axis components, the 4042 is the ideal choice. Available in diameters of 2, 3, 4 and 5mm, all with a 6mm diameter shank, this long nosed series has an overall length of 75mm. With a length of cut from 7 to 12mm and a reach from 15 to 20mm, the new 4042 Cyber Series is well suited to the production of small complex parts. Furthermore, with a UK manufacturing base in Tamworth, ITC can modify this exciting new line to suit the exact demands of the end user.
