Seco introduces new Jabro Solid2 solid carbide end mill cutters

Added to MTDCNC by Seco Tools (UK) Ltd on 15 April 2014

Seco, has recently expanded its already comprehensive Jabro®-Solid2 range of solid carbide end mills to include new sizes, geometries and flute versions. Such additions allow an even greater range of applications to benefit from this highly-versatile series of cutters that balance economy with performance.

The JS522 long-flute finishing tool, designed to meet the aerospace industry’s strict criteria for perpendicularity, fine surface finishes and more effective machining, now comes in standard inch sizes that will widen JS522’s appeal.

In 2013, four new geometries were introduced to the JS400 series, allowing users to optimise chip formation and achieve higher cutting data in general machining and aerospace applications involving aluminium alloys.

The range has been further expanded for aerospace part production with the launch of JS453. This new series features increased radii (1,0; 2,0; 2,5; 3,0; 4,0 and 6,0 mm) and overhang lengths that will increase its application potential and appeal to a broader market.

Similar improvements have been made to the Jabro®-HSS-Co range with the expansion of the JCO710 series of solid HSS-E end mills to include a zn-4 flute version. This innovation helps increase process security in full slotting operations (especially when machining in less-than-ideal conditions). In addition new tools with a zn-6 flute design provides manufacturers with an effective solution for side milling high shoulders up to 4 x D in a single pass.
