The reputation of TaeguTec's ChaseMill line has been taken to yet another level with the arrival of the new series of APCT inserts for machining composite materials. The new PCD inserts have been specially designed to prevent surface delamination whilst delivering uncompromising performance and tool life.

The new 12mm inserts have a PCD brazed tip that is available with the choice of a corner radius or chamfer geometry. The single edge inserts are capable of machining composite materials to a depth of cut up to 3.5mm with a feed per tooth from 0.05 to 0.3mm/tooth. These impressive parameters make the ChaseMill cutters with the new APCT inserts the first choice for resin board and CFRP rough machining.

The ChaseMill line is available with the choice of an end mill, screw-on type cutter or a face mill for maximum material removal rates. The end mill and screw type cutter lines are available in diameters from 20 to 32mm whilst the face mills are offered in diameters from 40 to 160mm.

The APCT inserts have a 90 degree design for machining surfaces up to the step or edge with impeccable precision levels. The APCT insert type consists of TaeguTec's ultra-fine TD830 PCD grade that demonstrates excellent wear resistance, edge strength and edge quality for prolonged machining on abrasive materials. Furthermore, this new grade has outstanding thermal stability that contributes to its impressive abrasion resistance. The result is an insert grade that generates incomparable tool life and surface finishes with the consistent performance that CFRP machinists have been longing for.
