CNC Training Academy Open House in October
CNC Training Academy and Cambridge Numerical Control to stage CNC software training Open House in October.
The CNC Training Academy in partnership with Cambridge Numerical Control is holding a CNC software familiarisation and training Open House at its facility in Leamington Spa on Thursday 25th October 2012.
The event, titled ‘Raising Your Game’ is aimed at precision manufacturers looking to get the most and the best from their CNC machine tools and will focus on the productivity and performance benefits of two leading software solution programs - Cimco’s MDC-Max and Delcam’s FeatureCam.
Says Jeff Hart, CNC Training Academy Manager:
‘Many manufacturers could become more productive and increase their competitiveness, as a result, if they could (or knew how to) exploit the full potential of their CNC machine tools.
‘This Open House, as its title suggests, aims to provide manufacturers with an appreciation of what an investment in the latest software could bring. The Open House has been designed to be a practical, hands-on event and we will be using a number of Doosan machines located within Mills CNC’s facility to demonstrate the power, sophistication and ease-of-use of MDC-Max and FeatureCam.
MDC-Max is a real-time software machine tool data collection system that generates instant reports concerning shop floor and individual machine tool’s productivity and, in particular provides data on the following:
• What jobs are in production?
• How many parts have been produced?
• How much scrap has been produced?
• What machines are down and why?
• How much has the downtime cost?
Easy to understand and simple to install – MDC-Max provides manufacturers with timely information that enables them to make informed decisions and to take decisive action to improve their manufacturing performance.
FeatureCam is Delcam’s easy-to-use CAM software designed for 2D and 3D milling, 5-axis simultaneous machining, high-speed milling, turning, turn/mill, live tooling and wire EDM machining.
The software’s advanced feature-based and feature-rich technologies enable manufacturers to program their machine tools in the shortest possible time (and hence significantly reduce job set-up times), and delivers a number of other benefits that include:
• Quick creation of reliable, secure and consistent tool-paths
• Generation of tool-paths based on the features of the part
• Automatic selection of the appropriate tools and calculation of optimum feeds and speeds
