Doosan announces plans to exhibit 24 new and upgraded machine tools at EMO

Added to MTDCNC by Mills CNC Ltd on 21 June 2013

Fresh from its successful 9th DIMF 2013 Exhibition in May where it launched 63 new and upgraded machine tools to an audience of over 3000 visitors, South Korean machine tool giant – Doosan – has announced its line-up for this year’s EMO event in Hannover (16th – 21st September 2013).
Exhibiting from its 1,620m2 stand the company will be exhibiting 24 machine tools at the Show and has targeted EMO as a strategic European event to reinforce its global ambitions and position as the ‘world’s top machine tool manufacturer’, and to promote the impressive (and growing) depth and breadth of its machine tool range to Show attendees.
Mills CNC, the exclusive distributor of Doosan machine tools in the UK and Ireland, will be attending the event and will be on hand to welcome UK and Irish visitors onto the Doosan Stand.
Says Nick Frampton, Mills CNC’s managing director:
“EMO is an important event and in many ways is a precursor to what we (Mills) will be exhibiting at MACH 2014.”
The 24 machines being exhibited at EMO include the following:
New 5-axis machines
Following on from the successful launch of its new, compact, high-performance DNM 350 5AX (5-axis machining centre) at the last EMO Show in 2011, Doosan has selected this year’s event to showcase its most recent addition to its 5-axis range with the new DNM 200 5AX model making its eagerly-awaited debut.

This machine will, it is anticipated, prove to be popular with precision component manufacturers as will a number of other milling machines also being exhibited like the new NHP 8000 horizontal machining centre and the ever-popular and upgraded Mynx 7500/50 (box guide-way) and the DNM 650 vertical machining centres.

Doosan, with its particular specialism for designing and manufacturing large capacity, heavy-duty machine tools will also be taking one of its market-leading horizontal boring machines to EMO – with the DBC 130 (26kW/30kW, 2,500rpm spindle) certain to draw in the crowds.

A new range of high-productivity Lynx lathes with integrated Y-axis will be represented on the Doosan stand with the Lynx 220 LSYA (sub-spindle) and the Lynx 220 LYC lathes both making their debuts. These machines will be complemented by the new universal, all-purpose Puma GT 2100M lathe.

Other ‘turning’ highlights on Doosan’s Stand will be the large capacity Puma 700LY, the Puma 2600SLY 10” chuck (sub-spindle and Y-axis lathe), and the 12” chuck Puma 3100ULY (a long bed capacity lathe with driven tools and a Y-axis).

Multi-axis turning centres
No Doosan international event would be complete without models from the company’s range of multi-axis turning centres making an appearance. At this year’s EMO show Doosan will be exhibiting its new MX 1600ST and MX 2600ST (Mill-Turn) machines and the upgraded TT 1800SY (Twin-turret/Twin-spindle) turning centre.

Sliding head lathes

Completing the new machine line-up will be Doosan’s new 7-axis, Fanuc 31iBcontrolled Puma ST20G and ST32G sliding head lathes designed for the ultra-productive machining of small turned parts.

Concludes Nick Frampton:
‘EMO is an important event in Doosan’s calendar – and, because so many new machines are launched at the Show, it’s equally important for us too.
‘After EMO the countdown to MACH 2014 starts in earnest for us. Many of the machines being launched in Hannover will be making their UK debuts on our Stand at MACH next year – and that’s why EMO has so much significance.’
