ITC enjoys success at Advanced Manufacturing Show

Added to MTDCNC by ITC LTD on 13 June 2013

Making its second appearance at the Advanced Manufacturing Show proved an astute move for Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC), as the company had an extremely successful event. The fruitful event was the result of a wealth of new cutting tool products enjoying their Advanced Manufacturing exhibition debut.

After a successful outing at the 2012 event, ITC exceeded 2012 levels with show visitors showing particular interest in the company's new Widia VDS drills, taps and stub length milling cutters as well as the company's, UK manufactured range of PCD and diamond coated cutting tools for the composite industry.

The introduction of the new Widia VariDrill range of drilling products with optimal geometries, through coolant facility and a new core design to enhance swarf evacuation were a certain crowd pleaser. The benefits of these features have impressed customers since their UK market launch in 2012. With improved productivity, tool life and cost reductions - visitors and co-exhibitors at the Advanced Manufacturing and co-located Subcon Show were very inquisitive.

Having access to Europe's largest and most comprehensive range of hole-making products, ITC can supply wire, letter and fractional drill dimensions as well as metric drills in the 1 to 20mm diameter range. The extensive range of drilling products is complemented by a new series of tapping and thread-making products for a multitude of applications and material types.

For high performance milling applications, ITC selected its range of Widia Rubig stub length VariMill cutters for the rough and finish machining to Wow the crowds at the Birmingham NEC event. The new stub length cutters are available in diameters from 6 to 12mm with cut lengths from 7 to 15mm with shank lengths up to 55mm, making them the ideal length for small machining envelopes such as turning centres with driven tooling turrets.

For the specialist machining of particular materials, ITC demonstrated the benefits of its 5102 Series of Alusurf two flute end mills that have endured significant R&D testing to provide aluminium machining performance that is unparalleled. With diameters from 3 to 12mm and a 45 degree helix angle, the Alusurf is the market leading choice for aluminium applications. For more demanding materials such as composites, abrasive materials and particularly hard aerospace grade alloys, ITC highlighted its extensive range of PCD and diamond coated tooling innovations.
