Mahr capitalises on its return to MACH

Mahr UK’s return to MACH after a long absence has been fully justified with an enquiry book brimming with potential new business, much of which is from potential new customers for the Milton Keynes-based metrology specialist.

In total Mahr took enquiries valued at over £1.6 million for metrology equipment ranging from micrometers through to its latest top-end optical measuring systems such as the MarSurf CWM 100 optical surface measuring units and the MarShaft SCOPE Plus unit for measuring turned parts. Most encouraging for Mahr was the fact that 27 per cent of visitors to the stand were from companies that it had not sold to in the past.

'The results from MACH, so far, are tremendous and will provide us with lots of opportunities as we progress through 2014. The amount of potential new customers that we spoke to during the show was particularly exciting and continues to prove that the range of products available from Mahr is attractive to a wide range of manufacturing businesses, from smaller sub-contractors to the large OEMs,' says Jonathan Firnberg, Managing Director, Mahr UK Plc.

In order to capitalise on the success at MACH, and the general positive market sentiment, Mahr U.K. has also announced two key appointments. The first is Neil Thurgood who joins the company in the role of administration and marketing assistant. Neil’s role reflects the requirement that Mahr U. K. has for increased sales admin support due to continued sales growth. Neil brings with him many years’ experience in customer support, most recently working for a multi-national manufacturer of high-end, in-car, audio products.

The second new appointment is that of Eugene Richer who takes up the role of sales engineer supporting customers across central region of the UK and Ireland.  Eugene has extensive experience within the metrology sector, having spent the past ten years working for Faro Technologies and Nikon UK in training and sales roles. He will now be putting this vast experience of the manufacturing and metrology sectors to good use in developing new and existing business for Mahr.
