World premiere in series production for SW

World premiere in series production for SW

Added to MTDCNC by SW Machine Tools on 12 August 2016

Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH (SW), the experts in high-end production systems for customized workpiece machining, are presenting their latest single and multi-spindle machining centers including automation at AMB in Stuttgart this year. The trade show stand, 180 m2 in size, centers around the two-spindle ball screw machine BA 222 and the one-spindle linear motor machine BA one6, both presented here for the first time worldwide.

The recently developed BA 222 is the smallest machine in the SW product line and the counterpart to the BA W02-22 linear motor machine presented at EMO in Milan. It features unparalleled precision and the greatest possible dynamics. With a spindle distance of 200 mm and working area dimensions of 200 x 350 x 300 mm, this two-spindle machine is ideally suited for micro-machining of aluminum, cast iron, titanium and steel workpieces. Visitors to the trade show can expect illustrative 5-axis machining of bone plates and scroll compressors.

The BA one6, on the other hand, is optimally suited as an addition to multi-spindle production lines for one-spindle premachining and rework of light metal workpiece. With position tolerances of < 0.005 mm, it can also be used to compensate for peak production periods, for example if a two-spindle machine is not sufficient and a three or four-spindle machining center cannot be used because the part is too large. The BA one6 will be presented at AMB as an automation solution with a 7-axis portal demonstrating automated loading and unloading of a gearbox housing.

The high-precision machining centers from SW are specially designed for challenging series production assignments. Employees of the company will be available at the trade show at Stand C71 in Building 9 to answer questions about the application and machining workpieces.
