Automotive Jobs to be Created Near Telford

The Polytec Group has announced that is investing in a new facility in Shropshire that will create over 100 manufacturing jobs. The automotive components supplier will build the manufacturing facility in three phases at the T54 technology park near Telford.

Secured as part of the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership’s Growth Deal, the new development will see the manufacturer of plastic components introduce a full injection moulding and fibre-reinforced plastics service to the automotive supply chain. The company's current UK base in Bromyard, Herefordshire is considered too far from its customer base in the light of the company winning several major contracts with a number of Midlands based vehicle manufacturers.

The three stage plan for Polytec includes the development of a new paint plant, an assembly hall and a manufacturing facility.  The move comes off the back of news of other investments in the area from companies such as Magna International, which will locate its new aluminium casting facility at the T54 site near Telford.
