New Steel Factory planned for the Black Country

New Steel Factory planned for the Black Country

Added to MTDCNC by MTDCNC on 19 September 2016

The former site of a West Midlands school has been announced as the new location for a multi-million-pound industrial facility for a steel company supplying the automotive sector. Trebor Developments has started contractual talks with Steel & Alloy Processing to develop the area in Oldbury. Steel & Alloy is considered as one of the largest independent automotive flat carbon steel processors in the UK.

The plans show that the 11.6-acre site will consist of a 300,000 sq/ft manufacturing facility that will enable Steel and Alloy Processing to evolve its business beyond its existing West Bromwich headquarters. The new plans are a shot in the arm for the steel industry that has received nothing but bad news in recent months. Councillors from Sandwell Borough Council as well as management from both Trebor Developments and Steel & Alloy Processing are excited by the potential the development will bring to the local economy, the steel industry and the securing of skilled manufacturing jobs in the area.
