For manufacturers looking for the next generation of large machining centre, Dugard has now introduced its Dugard 2000XP. Taking on the baton from the previous 'E' Series of entry level of machine that is still available, the new 2000XP is built with stability at its core.

Emphasising this, the new addition to the Dugard armoury has heavy linear guideways that epitomise the 'XP' as the extra performance machine. The machine has faster rapids than its predecessors and a 12,000rpm spindle as standard that is fed tools from a 36 pot carousel and it is driven by a motor with 22kW of spindle power.

Taking a look at the machine specifics, it has an X, Y and Z axis travel of 2060mm by 850mm by 815mm with a maximum table load of 4000kg. The spindle taper is configured with a BT40/CAT40 for more robust tooling set-ups and the machine has an overall footprint of 5300 by 3580mm with a weight of 14,500kg, which underlines its heavy machining credentials.

The machine has through spindle coolant and is supplied with a choice of Siemens or Fanuc control and is clearly a lot of machine for a price tag of less than £100k. Undoubtedly more robust than its predecessor, the 2000XP has been built for heavy duty machining and the cutting of challenging materials. Now entering the market with a host of options as well as a high specification as standard, the new Dugard 2000XP is definitely a machine worth considering for your heavy and large component machining demands.
