Alpha 1350XS a must have machine for most machine shops

Added to MTDCNC by 600 UK on 26 September 2014

The new Alpha 1350XS series of turning centre from 600UK is regarded as a must have machine for most machine shops. Why? The Alpha 1350XS can be operated in four different ways, giving it flexibility beyond any other turning centre on the market.

For manual machine shops that want to upgrade or possibly make their first foray into CNC machining, the Alpha 1350XS is the ideal solution. It can be used as a fully manual machine or it can use the Manual Guide I package that is a Fanuc based conversational programming package that will guide the operator through the programming process.

However, the flexibility and innovation doesn’t stop there. The Alpha 1350XS also incorporates 600UK’s unique Alpha Link package that permits offline programming. This enables the office/programming staff to send programs direct to the machine. In addition to these three options, the Alpha 1350XS can also be used as a full CNC machine with G-Codes programmed into the machine. All this can be done via a user friendly and intuitive control unit with a large screen that sits at the front of the machine and can slide along the length of the machine to improve user friendliness.

The Alpha 1350XS is the smallest, yet most popular of the Alpha line with a 350mm swing over bed and a distance between centres of 650mm. With five other variants in the Alpha Series, 600UK can cater for the demands of most machine shops. The flexibility of the Alpha Series enables it to conduct anything from prototype to production runs and its small footprint of 1.5m high by 2.4m long and 1.7m deep, makes it a worthwhile addition to any machine shop.

The Alpha 1350XS can operate at spindle speeds up to 3500rpm and has a spindle bore of 42mm. In addition, it has two doors at the front of the machine to improve operator access whilst the four position tool post, revolving tailstock and chuck guard make the Alpha XS series a flexible, user friendly and easily accessible machine tool.
