Honor vertical lathe success for DTS

Machine tool supplier DTS UK Ltd continues its unprecedented growth spurt with a further sale of their popular Honor vertical lathe series.  Now equipped with a significant range of machine tools solutions, DTS are finding real success in the UK market with the large VTL range from Honor Seiki. In 2013 alone the business has now sold four sizeable Vertical lathe solutions from Honor into UK manufacturers. Considering the nature and concept of this machine tool type, four high value sales in less than eight months positions DTS as a leading force in the supply of Vertical lathes in our domestic market.

Commenting on the success of the Honor Seiki line, Gary Sanderson explains;

‘The machines available from Honor offer so many benefits over our competitors, as a result of their dedication to manufacturing a premium product, we find it quite simple to demonstrate to engineers why they should opt for a Honor solution.’

‘The machines are so rigid, there is no other like it. The range is also very extensive meaning like some of our competitors we never have to try to sell up or sell down in order to provide a machine that doesn’t quite fit the bill. The smallest swing is 21 inches and the largest over 6 metres, in between this there are dozens of models.’

Having won orders over high profile brands, Gary goes on to explain some of the technical, key benefits:

‘The Honor machines have a Solid lock clamping feature which provides 10 tonnes of clamping force on the Ram, this figure is double that of most other manufacturers. This enables engineers to take bigger cuts at higher speeds and feeds, thus improving cycle times. It also improves tool-life by up to 30%.’

‘All of the machines in the range also have fully supported Rams, again another feature that is often overlooked by our competition, in simple terms, this means the Ram on all Honor machines is enclosed  which increases rigidity and improves the longevity of the machine’

‘The overall specification of the Honor range is quite outstanding, the machines can also come equipped with two Rams, a Primary and a Secondary. With this configuration engineers can perform two operations at once, again, improving throughput.’
