New impressive Haas DT-1 Drill/Tap center

Added to MTDCNC by HAAS Automation on 03 July 2015

The impressive Haas DT-1 Drill/Tap center has now been upgraded to offer customers a 20,000rpm inline direct-drive spindle. By incorporating an increased spindle speed, the DT-1 can provide the end user with the potential to run higher speeds and feeds for small tools, thereby making high-speed machining possible.

Available as an option on the DT-1, the 20,000rpm spindle is ideal for applications that require high spindle speeds whilst its still delivers sufficient power for machining hard materials. Capable of rigid tapping to 5000 rpm, the spindle is powered by a 15hp vector drive system that generates 16 ft/lb of cutting torque.

The Haas DT-1 is an impressive machining center with a compact footprint that is ideal for the small machine shop or for manufacturers with little spare capacity. Furthermore, with a work envelope of  508mm by 406 by 393mm, the DT-1 retains a remarkably small footprint. The machine has an impressive feed rate of 30m/min which is ideal for high-speed milling whilst the 20 station tool changer provides flexibility and maximum machine utilisation. To further extend this machine uptime, the DT01 has rapids of 60m/min. For efficient chip removal, the DT-1 features steeply sloped internal sheet metal. Optional twin chip augers transport chips to exit at the rear of the machine, allowing multiple machines to be placed close together. A 45-gallon flood coolant system is provided as standard with options for a programmable coolant nozzle and high-pressure through-spindle coolant systems.
