McDowell Create New Partnership with Takisawa

Added to MTDCNC by MTDCNC on 15 April 2013

McDowell Machine Tool Solutions have again expanded their product range by confirming a partnership with Japanese machine tool manufacturer Takisawa. The leading machine tool manufacturer has production facilities in Japan and Taiwan and offers a vast portfolio of machine tools with a specific expertise in horizontal lathes

The company has a rich history having been established in 1922 by brothers Shusaku and Hichisaburo Takisawa. In recent years the company has expanded significantly, benefiting from high demand from overseas (over 1,000 machines have already been supplied to the UK). This demand for Takisawa products is in part down to the reputation the company has gained for customer service. Takisawa place a strong emphasis on innovation and a key source of solutions has come from listening to their customers.

Takisawa Taiwan have recently developed and introduced their latest product range. The LS series have been developed to include Heavy Duty CNC lathes to better service the Oil and Gas sector. The LS-800, LS-1000 (pictured) & LS-1100 are of a solid boxway design and can be configured up to a multitasking 4 axis specification.  With a maximum 3 meter Z axis stroke and a turning diameter of 900 mm these heavy duty lathes are an excellent addition to the vast product range Takisawa currently offer.

With the addition of the LS-1100 we can now offer up to a 3 axis machine with a 10 inch spindle bore allowing for through spindle loading of long parts ideally suited of machining of pipe connections, drill collars and other oil & gas associated components.

Managing Director, Stuart McDowell said 'With these machines being made available and being specifically developed for the Oil & Gas sector we foresee great success with the LS series in the Scottish market. We can offer these machines at a higher specification than our competitors and still remain extremely competitive on price. The arrival of the LS-1100 has been especially well received; the machine offers an attractive option to the marketplace which had been lacking competition prior to its arrival.'

McDowell Machine Tool Solutions Ltd is a Dundee based company with clients across the UK. They also represent Unisign and Bost Machine Tools.
