Mills CNC, the exclusive distributor of Doosan machine tools in the UK and Ireland has made a flying start to 2013.

Following on from a record-breaking 2012 which saw the company report sales in excess of £51M, Mills has announced that sales in January 2013 topped £5M making it the best start to a year in the company’s 40 year history. Mills’ order intake in January has also hit record levels too.

Says Managing Director, Nick Frampton:

'This is positive news and I’m delighted that 2013 has started as strongly as we ended 2012.'

The different machine tools sold by Mills in January reflect the depth and breadth of the Doosan range but a couple of machine model types have proved to be particularly popular and are worthy of special mention.

These include the new Puma GT2100 range of lathes (4 machines sold) and the new range of horizontal machining centres (4 machines sold) – both introduced into the UK during the second half of 2012.

To meet customer demand for machines Mills has increased the number of Doosans it holds in stock at its Leamington facility.

Explains Nick Frampton:

'When customers order a new machine from us they don’t want to be kept waiting for it to arrive.

'To ensure quick delivery we have increased the number of Doosan machines we hold in stock, and have already placed orders for 220 machines from the Doosan factory to cope with initial demand.'

With 2013 now in full swing Mills is promising a year to remember with upgrades and improvements to its customer support services; exciting new developments concerning its showroom and demonstration facilities and the introduction of new, innovative Doosan machines.
