Broken taps? here's the solution the TR100

Added to MTDCNC by Eurospark Ltd on 28 September 2014

We’ve all been in the situation of hearing or feeling a tap or drill break in a hole and muttering expletives to ourselves whilst wondering how to get the remains out of the hole. This age old issue has now been resolved by Eurospark and its new TR100 Tap Buster machine.

A genuine ‘must-have’ machine for all machine shops, the TR100 is a fast and efficient way of removing broken drills and taps without any damage to the component. A completely portable unit, the TR100 uses a single phase power supply and ordinary tap water as the dielectric medium to achieve cost effective results. With a Length, Depth and Height of just 290 by 345 by 285mm, the bulkiest part of the machine is the 17kg generator unit that is easily transportable around the machine shop. As for the column that houses the electrode, it weighs in at 6kg with a Length, Depth and Height of just 53 by 70 by 375mm.

Any operator can carry this unit from machine to machine and with a maximum chuck diameter of 6.5mm, problem breakages below this size range are now a thing of the past. For larger drills and taps, the customer can machine their own electrodes to suit.

So, how do you use it? Small parts can be submerged in a bucket or bowl and everyday tap water can serve as the dielectric fluid. For larger parts that just won’t fit in a bowl, the operator can build a plasticine wall around the hole, fill it with water and let the mobile unit get to work. As sole importers, sales, service and support for this new problem solver, Eurospark Ltd is now selling these off-the-shelf units remarkably fast. If you want to put an end to this time old issue for your shop floor staff, please contact Eurospark.
