Added to MTDCNC by XYZ Machine Tools on 26 February 2015

XYZ Machine Tools is hosting two open days aimed specifically at the education sector to highlight the benefits of its machine tools, support to those involved in teaching the next generation of engineers, and also emphasising the major benefits of working with XYZ as an education partner.

The two dates are 21st April at XYZ’s showroom and factory in Burlescombe, Devon, followed by 23rd April at its midlands showroom in Nuneaton. Both days will be informative and are open to lecturers, technicians and anyone involved in the specification of machine tools for educational establishments. XYZ staff will be on-hand to talk visitors through the various steps involved in selecting the right machine tools for the situation they face. 'All of our visitors on these days will be able to discuss that next step, whether that is manual machines or CNC machining, including the XYZ ProtoTRAK manual/CNC machines and more advanced equipment such as the XYZ vertical machining centres and turning centres,' says Kerry Kidd, Educational Sales Director, XYZ Machine Tools.

In addition to the machine demonstrations, visitors will also have the opportunity to discuss a range of associated technologies, such as the application of the use of DXF and Parasolid software systems, with detailed presentations on a variety of software applications.  XYZ Machine Tools’ commitment to the education sector is highlighted by the fact that over 200 universities, colleges and training establishments across the UK have installed XYZ machines in their workshops, many of these have also taken the opportunity to enter into Educational Partnerships with XYZ.

'The benefits of being an educational partner will be highlighted over the two days, but will be of particular interest to those education establishments that can see the long-term benefits of buying machines that will have extended service lives as well as the ongoing support that XYZ offers. The additional support provided by XYZ through its Educational Partnerships is significant and provides additional  learning resources, from technical manuals to face-to-face training for technicians, trainers and students alike,' says Kerry Kidd. 'All members of our UK Training Team are time-served engineers who have vast knowledge of our products, particularly the ProtoTRAK and Siemens controls, they are also recipients of Professional Trainer Certificates, ensuring that they can impart that knowledge to technicians, teachers and students alike, ensuring that you maximise the power and capability of the machines you are using for the benefit of the students.'
